Instruct-ERIC has a long history of commitment to gender equality and diversity throughout the infrastructure. This is seen in the coordinating Hub, through the Centres of Excellence across Europe, in Instruct's management and organisational bodies, and as a result in the users, access, and democratisation of science that Instruct seeks to achieve.
This is made clear in Instruct's Gender Equality and Diversity Plan, which highlights how Instruct positively manages diversity for the benefit of structural biology and the wider scientific community.
Instruct was awarded the European Commission Gender Equality Prize in the Newcomer Category in 2025, the first ERIC to do so, confirming Instruct's commitment to championing diversity in science.
