Looking for a PhD student to study human DNA mismatch repair. The student will join the RepState EU network, with its integrated biophysical analysis. It addresses individual DNA Repair State Machines in the MMR, NER and TC-NER pathways, their interdependencies, and their collective action ensuring efficient DNA repair. Analysis will make use of biochemical, biophysical and structural approaches, including cryo-EM.
The Sixma lab is part of the division of Biochemistry in the Netherlands Cancer Institute and member of the Oncode Institute. The interactive atmosphere of the institute and the integration with RepState partners create an active and vibrante atmosphere. The institute is located close to Schiphol airport and the amenities of Amsterdam.

You hold an MSc degree or equivalent at time of recruitment
You should not have resided or performed your main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of recruitment for more than 12 months in the 3 year period immediately prior to the start date of this position.
You are in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of your research career (measured from the date of obtaining MSc degree) and have not yet been awarded a doctorate.
