Postdoc in modelling of solid-state NMR experiments

aarhus university, Denmark
Application deadline: 15 Aug 2026

A three-year postdoc position is available in modelling of solid-state NMR experiments from 1 October 2026 (or soon thereafter) in the Danish Center for Ultrahigh-Field NMR Spectroscopy at the Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University in the group of Prof. Thomas Vosegaard. The place of work is Gustav Wieds Vej 14, 8000 Aarhus C.

Project goal and tasks
We combine state-of-the-art instrumentation and experiments with modelling of these experiments. As part of this, we have developed new algorithms and a completely new web-based platform – EasyNMR - for performing such modelling/simulations. With this position, we seek to strengthen the platform by embedding/developing additional tools for data processing and analysis. The starting point for the developments will be our EasyNMR platform. Current application areas range include materials/catalysis, lipidomics, and NMR of food systems, but we seek to be domain agnostic in our analyses.

Your profile
We are looking for a candidate with strong scientific expertise and creativity to join our team. It is expected that the successful candidate will take a central role in developing the integrated web-platform for analysis of solid-state NMR experiments as well as having sufficient knowledge of solid-state NMR to be able to take part in running solid-state NMR experiments.

Scientific Surroundings
The Danish Center for Ultra High Field NMR Spectroscopy at Aarhus University offers a stimulating research environment, covering complementary research activities in the area of liquid state NMR, oriented and MAS solid state NMR, HR-MAS, pulse sequence development, low-field NMR, high-pressure NMR and imaging, and a strong focus on modelling of solid-state NMR experiments. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art spectrometers operating at 950 MHz, 700 MHz, 500 MHz, and 400 MHz. The NMR research is embedded within the Department of Chemistry.

Aarhus University further provides a strong international research and training environment with excellent professional and private conditions. Foreign employees can get help and information from the AU International Center and Work in Denmark. Tax reduction schemes for researchers may apply. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse research environment. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, age, disability, religion, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other personal characteristics.
