An exciting opportunity has become available for the first postdoc to join Morgan Jones lab in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford. This is a great opportunity to help shape the lab’s direction from the ground up.
The lab is focussed on understanding how the eukaryotic replication machinery deals with obstacles to its progression. In particular, they are interested in the molecular consequences of collisions between the replication and transcription machineries.
The project will focus on reconstituting transcription-replication conflicts in vitro using purified proteins to investigate their formation, impact on genome stability and ultimate resolution. These collisions will be directly visualised using cryo-EM alongside biochemical and cell biology approaches.
The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust for three years, with the possibility to extend. The closing date is 12 midday, Monday 21st September 2026.
