Instruct-ERIC Director Prof. Harald Schwalbe has appointed Dr Claudia Alen Amaro and Dr Natalie Haley as the new Hub Coordination Team.
Dr. Claudia Alén Amaro will be the Head of Operations, and Dr. Natalie Haley the Head of Strategy. The team succeeds former Instruct Coordinator, Dr Silke Schumacher.
Both Claudia and Natalie held positions at Instruct prior to the appointment, as Senior Programme Manager and Senior Project Manager, respectively. As a result, the team can bring years of experience to the new roles to keep Instruct reaching its ambitious targets.
Claudia will be working to deliver Instructs’ operational goals, from working with Instruct partners to international collaboration, and liaising directly with the European Commission. "It's a privilege to continue serving Instruct in this new role. I look forward to continuing to work together with colleagues at Instruct and the extended research infrastructure community to help researchers achieve their goals.”
Natalie will be involved in Instructs’ strategic tasks, including interaction with Instruct council and management of Instruct Horizon Europe projects. “I’m honoured to take on this new exciting role at Instruct, and it is a pleasure to work alongside such a friendly, talented and dedicated Instruct family both here at the Instruct-ERIC Hub and in our Instruct Centres.”
Professor Harald Schwalbe, Director of Instruct-ERIC, commented, “I am happy to have this coordination team at my side to shape Instruct. I am completely confident in the synergistic complementary skills of this team.”

Prior to her time at Instruct, Claudia worked as a molecular biologist at the University of Oxford.
Natalie has worked at Instruct-ERIC since 2017 as a Project Manager. Natalie has been heavily involved in a huge number of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects in that time, helping to grow and develop Instruct on the European and global stage. Prior to joining Instruct, Natalie completed a PhD in biophysics at the University of Oxford.
